Crown Peach Whiskey Chicken Recipe

🧂 Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 8 to 12 chicken thighs
• Salt and black pepper

  to taste
• 1 small onion

  diced
• 1 ½ cups whisky
• 3 ½ cups barbecue sauce
• ½ cup water

  optional
• 1 cup peach preserves
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 4 to 6 peaches

  pitted and sliced

Instructions

• 1 Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
• 2 Place a large (15 inch) oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil
  and butter.
• 3 Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper. Carefully place the
  chicken into the skillet and brown on both sides, about 5 minutes on each side.
  Remove the chicken from the skillet but keep warm.
• 4 Spoon off excess grease from the skillet, if desired.
• 5 To the skillet, add the onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes.
• 6 Carefully pour the whisky into the skillet and continue cooking the onions for 5
  minutes, allowing the whisky to reduce slightly.
• 7 Add the barbecue sauce, water (if your barbecue sauce is thick,) peach
  preserves, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet, stirring to combine.
• 8 Arrange the chicken in the sauce, flipping the chicken once to coat in the
  sauce. Add the peaches to the skillet around the chicken.
• 9 Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and carefully place in the oven. Bake for
  90 minutes or until the chicken is tender enough to fall off the bone.
