Toffee Sauce

🧂 Ingredients

• 1 cup 225g unsalted butter
• 1 cup 220g brown sugar, packed
• 1 cup 240ml heavy cream
• 1 teaspoon 5ml vanilla extract
• ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

• 1 In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
• 2 Stir in the brown sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar has
  completely dissolved and the mixture starts to bubble.
• 3 Carefully pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Be cautious as
  the mixture may bubble up.
• 4 Add the vanilla extract and salt, and continue to cook, stirring for about 5
  minutes or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
• 5 Remove from heat and let the sauce cool for a few minutes; it will thicken as it
  cools.
• 6 Serve warm over your favorite desserts.
