Cherry Coffee Cake Internationale

🧂 Ingredients

• 3/4 cup unsalted butter

  softened (1 ½ sticks)
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
• 3 large eggs
• 3 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour

  (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
• 1/2 tsp. almond extract
• 8 oz. sour cream
• 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
• 1/2 cup UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  cold (1/2 stick)

Instructions

• 1 Preheat oven to 350°.
• 2 Grease a 9x13” baking dish.
• 3 Cream butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream, baking soda and almond extract with an
  electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
• 4 Add flour and stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
• 5 Do not over-mix; just stir in.
• 6 Spread batter into prepared baking dish.
• 7 Spread pie filling over top of batter.
• 8 Sprinkle streusel topping over cherry pie filling.
• 9 Bake 45-60 minutes or until cake is set and tests done.
• 10 Mix first three ingredients.
• 11 Cut in butter with pastry blender until crumbly.
• 12 Add streusel topping over top of cherry pie filling as directed above.
