🧂 Ingredients

4-6 Beets cleaned, peeled and tails removed

chop or cube beets
1-3 pieces ginger root chopped (more if you want it spicy)

chopped or sliced fresh ginger root
2 whole lemon rinds

adds nutrition to the tonic and flavor
2 tsp sea salt
1 vegetable culture starter

optional but this helps amplify the good bacteria
2-3 cloves garlic

Extremely good for arterial health
1 habanero pepper chopped

If you don't like it too spicy you can omit this and just add a small amount of cayenne pepper to taste upon serving but this is helpful for cleansing arteries.
1-3 pieces fresh turmeric root chopped or sliced

or powder could work as a subsitute

Instructions

1 Be sure you start with a sterile wide mouth mason jar. I like to use a 2 quart
jar because you will need ample room (about half the jar) open to allow it to
ferment. Do not fill all the way to the top.
2 Clean, peel and chop the ingredients and prepare the lemon rind.
3 Add to the mason jar with the sea salt.
4 Combine veggie starter and purified water to half fill the jar. Be sure to mix
the veggies starter a bit to dissolve. The water can be warm to touch to do
this.

Make sure the veggies are covered but you have left enough space for expansion.
5 Cover with tight woven muslin cloth or a coffee filter and a rubber band to hold
in place.
6 Keep the tonic at room temperature for 3-4 days. If you see a film on the top
throughout simply skim it off.
7 Once your elixir is a bit sour to the taste after a few days you can strain off
the ingredients in another sterile jar.
8 Seal it and store in fridge until you are ready to enjoy shots of your artery
cleansing drink recipe!
