1 Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper
or foil.
2 In a bowl, crack the egg and lightly beat it using a fork. Incorporate the
breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder,
onion powder, and salt until well combined.
3 Add the ground beef to the mixture and blend gently with your hands, being
careful not to over-mix.
4 Shape the meat mixture into a loaf approximately 10 x 5 inches on the prepared
baking sheet.
5 Spread 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
6 Layer the bacon slices over the meatloaf, allowing them to overlap and drape
over the sides. Tuck the ends underneath, avoiding complete wrapping to maintain
crispiness.
7 Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes.
8 Brush the remaining barbecue sauce over the bacon, then continue baking until
the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F, which should take another
15-20 minutes.
9 After baking, allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and
serving.
