Garlic Lovers Baked Ziti

This quick meal is super tasty, plus it's easy on the budget. A creamy tomato
sauce, two types of cheeses and lots and lots of garlic is sure to satisfy any
garlic lovers palette!

Instructions

1 Step 1: Preheat oven to 450°. Heat oven safe deep dish pan (see above) on low.
Once the pan is warm, add the olive oil and jarred garlic. Cook 30-60 seconds
until fragrant, but not browned.
2 Step 2: Add the crushed tomatoes and turn the heat to medium. Add salt and
pepper. Cook until the tomatoes start to simmer.
3 Step 3: Add in 3 cups of water and bring to a low boil. Once the liquid is
softly boiling, add in the pasta. Cover (if using cast iron, leave a crack for
venting) and cook 12-15 minutes, until the pasta is al dente, stirring
occasionally.
4 Step 4: While the pasta cooks, press the head of garlic into a small bowl. Chop
the basil into ribbons.
5 Step 5: When the pasta is al dente, remove from heat. DO NOT DRAIN. Stir in the
heavy cream, basil, garlic and parmesan cheese. Taste and add more salt or
pepper if needed. Top with the mozzarella cheese.
6 Step 6: Place the pan in the preheated oven. Bake for 6 minutes or until the
cheese is melty.
7 Step 7: Turn the oven to low broil and broil the top of the baked ziti for 1-2
minutes, watching carefully. Once the cheese is lightly browned, remove the pan
and let cool for a few minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
