Funfetti Birthday Cake Donuts

🧂 Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup unsalted butter

• 1 large egg
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/4 tsp almond extract

  optional, for a cake batter flavor
• 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
• 1 cup powdered sugar

  for glaze
• 2 tbsp milk

• 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

• 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
• 2 In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt,
  and sugar.
• 3 In another bowl, whisk the melted butter, egg, milk, vanilla extract, and almond
  extract until combined.
• 4 Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just
  combined.
• 5 Gently fold in the rainbow sprinkles to avoid color bleeding.
• 6 Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
• 7 Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the donuts comes out
  clean.
• 8 Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a
  cooling rack.
• 9 In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make
  the glaze.
• 10 Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and place them back on the cooling rack.
• 11 Immediately top with extra sprinkles before the glaze sets.
• 12 Let the glaze set for 10 minutes before serving.
