Oven Ribeye Steak

Crusty, tender and delicious bone-in ribeye steaks seared on a cast iron skillet
and finished in the oven. This is how you cook a tender and juicy ribeye steak
in the oven!

2 Ribeye Steaks

1.5" thick, bone-in
2 tablespoon Olive oil
1 tablespoon Butter
1 teaspoon Thyme

dried
1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

Instructions

1 Pull steaks out of the fridge about 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking.
2 Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
3 In a bowl, combine dry seasonings. Pat dry steaks and rub all sides with the
seasoning mixture.
4 Heat a cast iron skillet to high heat. Once the skillet is very hot, carefully
add 1-2 tablespoons olive oil. Sear steaks for 30 seconds on each side. The
steak will develop a nice crust.
5 Place a ½ tablespoon slice of butter on top of each steak and immediately
transfer to the oven. Cook for about 10-12 minutes. Using a meat thermometer,
check the temperature of the center of the steak. When the internal temperature
reaches 125 degrees, pull steak out of the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
Slice and serve with your favorite side dishes.
