Instant Pot Split Pea Soup

Instructions

1 Add the oil, onions, carrots and garlic to the Instant Pot. Using the Saute
button, cook the vegetables until onions are soft and translucent.
2 Add the broth, split peas, paprika, cumin, bay leaves and water to the Pot. Stir
the ingredients.
3 Cover with the lid, remember to keep the valve on "sealing."

Press "Pressure Cooker" button, choose "high pressure" option, choose 15
minutes.

It will be approximately 15 minutes of gaining the pressure inside the pot
before the contents begin cooking.
4 When the countdown of cooking time is over, you can choose to release the
pressure manually or allow the soup to sit in the pot and allow a natural
release of pressure. I like the latter, as it allows the recipe to gain more
flavor.
5 Take out the bay leaves and discard.
6 My family likes their own seasoning, so I serve the soup into individual plates
before it gets seasoned with salt or pepper by each member. But we all love
fresh green herbs. Use parsley, thyme or any other herb that suits your taste.
