Gooey Butter Cookies

🧂 Ingredients

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  softened
• 8 oz cream cheese

  softened
• 1 large egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 box yellow cake mix

  about 15.25 oz
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  for rolling

Instructions

• 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• 2 In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.
• 3 Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
• 4 Gradually add the cake mix and stir until a soft dough forms.
• 5 Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for easier handling.
• 6 Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
• 7 Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
• 8 Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches
  apart.
• 9 Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still
  soft.
• 10 Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a
  wire rack to cool completely.
