Pear Preserves

🧂 Ingredients

4 lbs peeled, sliced fresh pears
4 cups sugar
2 cups water
juice of one lemon
2-3 cinnamon sticks
2 tablespoons freshly minced ginger root

Instructions

1 Combine prepared pears with sugar, cinnamon, ginger, lemon juice, and water.
Bring to a boil, cook over low heat for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally until
the pear slices are translucent.
2 Sterilize glass jars and lids in boiling water, pour the jam into the jars,
tighten the lids tightly and turn upside down. Leave to cool completely.
