🧂 Ingredients

1/4 cup (half a stick) butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil
and set aside.
*Note that if using foil the edges may brown/crisp quicker.
2 In a large bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, and salt. Beat in the egg and
vanilla extract.
3 Add flour and gently mix until fully incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
4 Spoon the dough into the baking pan, spreading it into an even layer.
5 Bake for 17 - 18 minutes until the top and edges are light brown and slightly
crackled, and the center is soft and under baked. Do not over bake!
6 Cool in pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or cooled
completely.
