🧂 Ingredients
4 lb
sweet apples
1 lb
seedless raisins or sultanas
1/2 lb
chopped nuts
Pinch
of ground cloves
1/2 pint
brown rice or apple cider vinegar
1 lb
soft brown sugar
optional

Instructions

Peel, core and chop the apples.

Place the apples, raisins, nuts, spice and vinegar in a covered pot and simmer
until soft and thoroughly cooked.

Add the sugar, and the juice and rind of the oranges, and cook, uncovered, until
thick, stirring at least until the sugar is dissolved.

Store in jars as described above. This chutney will keep well in a cool, dark
cupboard for several months if sugar is used.
