Chocolate Pecan Pie

This classic Chocolate Pecan Pie is a delicious rich pie filled with pecans.
This is a perfect dessert for the holidays, or just for fun!

Instructions

1 Mix together flour and salt. Cut shortening into flour until it resembles coarse
crumbs. Stir in egg. Slowly pour in water while mixing until the dough sticks
together. Place in fridge for an hour, then roll out into a 12-inch disk. Spread
in pie pan. You can also use a premade pie crust to make this easier.
2 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
3 Heat butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is
melted; cool slightly.
4 With a hand beater, beat eggs, sugar, salt, chocolate mixture, and corn syrup.
Stir in pecans and pour mixture into pie shell.
5 Bake until set, 40 to 50 minutes. Cool slightly. Serve warm, or refrigerate and
serve with nondairy whipped topping.
