Tornado Potatoes (Twister Potatoes, Spiral Potatoes)

These crispy vegan Spiral Potatoes (also called Tornado Potatoes or Twister
Potatoes) are a fun way to turn your ordinary spuds into tasty snacks,
appetizers, or side dishes! A baked twisted potato treat made flavorful with
herbs and spices and can be cooked in the oven, air fryer, or griller in just
minutes!

Instructions

1 Preheat the oven (or an air fryer) to 392 °F (200 °C) and line a baking sheet
with parchment paper.
2 Wash the potatoes and pat them dry. Then run a wooden skewer through each potato
and cut into a spiral using a small, sharp knife (the thinner you cut the
spirals, the crispier they will be). Alternatively, you can twist the potatoes
through a spiral slicer.
3 Then gently loosen up the potato to create some space between the spiral’s wings
and place on the prepared baking sheet.
4 In a bowl, stir together all the ingredients for the marinade and brush the
potatoes with it.
5 Bake the Tornado potatoes for 20 minutes. Then flip them over, brush with the
remaining marinade and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the potatoes are
crispy (in the air fryer, they only take about 15 minutes, flipping halfway
through).
6 Then remove from oven and sprinkle with coarse sea salt and fresh herbs to
taste. Serve with vegan mayonnaise
