I like to serve these Braised Pork Knuckles with preserved vegetables and ground peanuts. I had them in a Taiwanese restaurant like that and it was delicious! Serving them with gua bao (steamed white bun that is folded like a little hamburger bun) is not only fun but very yummy too! Peanut butter is my secret ingredient! Shhhhhhh!
View RecipeYou can use bone-in chicken, boneless chicken or chicken wings. Some additional ingredients that you may want to try adding could be Chinese sausage, pork or chicken liver, black fungus and chestnuts.
View RecipeThis is a very basic chow mein recipe. You can add proteins such as beef, pork, chicken, sausages, shrimp, pressed tofu and more. Try adding some shitake mushrooms or preserved vegetables for some added flavours. White sesame seeds are also often sprinkled on top (I forgot the sesame seeds when I made the one in the picture, oops!)
View RecipeFlank steak is a very popular cut of beef to use in stir-frying. Itโs lean, tender and can absorb marinades quickly. You may also use ribeye or tenderloin to get similar results. Besides celery, you can also use water spinach (aka tong choy), mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, garlic stem or any vegetable that doesnโt contain too much water. Alternatively, you can skip the vegetables altogether, which is also a very popular dish.

View RecipeI used 3 chicken legs that totaled approx. 600g with the bone-in. After removing the bones, I had approx. 350g of meat. You may also choose to use a whole chicken which is probably double the size. This recipe will not work well with de-boned raw chicken. You may also want to add peanuts, sesame sauce, sesame seeds, sea cucumber, black fungus, celery or carrots to this dish. You can consider substituting the cucumbers with green papaya.
